How to Relax Your Back Without Going To The Doctor

You have back pain, but you don’t want to bother going to the doctor because you don’t want to treat it with medication and side effects.

You’ve probably heard that “if a drug has no side effects, it probably doesn’t work.” Logically it follows that if a drug works, it will have side effects. 👎

But if you keep going down the “tight lower back” road, you’re scared of where you may end up.

I understand, I’ve been there, too. But I didn’t stay there, and you don’t have to either.

The good news is, there are only three reasons why you may not be getting relief.

Let’s eliminate the first obvious reason. You might have an underlying issue that needs to be treated medically. Please rule that out as a potential cause of your pain before reading further.

Now we are left with only two potential reasons for your pain:

🤷‍♂️ 1. You don’t know what to do

🙈 2. You know, but you’re not doing it

Let’s start with the first. There are four steps that we need to take on a “macro” level. Meaning we need to spend a few weeks at each of the following steps.

☝️Step number one is to relax the muscles. There are a few different ways to do this, such as massage, self myofascial, release (foam roller), and when I called “settlers“ (think lying on your back with your legs over a chair. Do these types of activities daily for several weeks before moving onto the next category.

✌️Step two is to mobilize the joints. I think about active flexibility, and ranges of motion that the human body “should“ be able to do (such as touching your toes, twisting, hip extension, etc.)

3️⃣Step three will take another few weeks. This involves stabilizing the joints. Think about isometric exercises like wall, sit and planks. The intensity is moderate, and we are working on establishing the position first and foremost.

💪Lastly, we work on building strength in the muscles. Now that the body is in a new position, we want to strengthen that position.

If you are the type of person who can take that information and run with it, go for it!!

But most likely you have become the last type of person… Now you know what to do but you haven’t done it.

These building blocks have helped 1,200 people become pain-free and get fit in the process.
